“It’s a celebration of Latin America, it os a tour, my piano is kind of like my little airplane, and I’d like to take people in a tour to Latin America,” said the pianist in a live stream interview with Next Music.
The “Gringo en La Habana” live show, is a celebration of the music of Cuba and Latin America via the experiences, hands, heart and soul of an Irish-American piano virtuoso who has made a career of traveling, performing and recording throughout the Americas. The live piano, bass, drums and percussion format is complemented with a heavy video presence, stories of being literally a “Gringo en La Habana” and surprise guest vocalists in every tour stop to take the audience on a fantastical musical journey throughout Cuba and Latin America.
The “Gringo en La Habana” tour takes its name from Arthur’s recent visit to Cuba, where he collaborated for his most recent single “Como suena el piano” with Cuban powerhouses Orishas. The tour will also feature Latin classic repertoire, reimagined and recast in Arthur’s signature mix of pop, blues and jazz, as well as new hits.
